Preparation for the escape (...) Mala was a brave girl. She was able to get a pass. In reality, she was already signed up, but I took it upon myself. Mala was truly delighted that we would take her along. Edek also seemed to be extremely happy. But, I was a bit less so. I believed that a woman would bring us bad luck, that she will be a ball and chain and, moreover, we had plans to come back to the area around Oświęcim. Edek found an ausweiss of some kind of post.
