Testing a Camera

A photographer’s mate tests a Speed Graphic camera in the photo lab on the aircraft carrier USS Intrepid. A blurry sign over the door reads, “No one allowed beyond this frame.” Visitors were not permitted into the spaces where the crew developed photos, both to prevent processing errors and to restrict access to classified images.
