Small square of red velvet, embroidered in gold in all-over pattern of interlacing geometric design, with foliage forms in spaces, and corner designs of foliage all highly stylized. Cross in center, gold thread worked over cord to give relief. Trimmed with narrow gold lace. Backed with dark green plain raw silk (probably Spanish) of later date, 18th century, than embroidery.
