This document is headed 'An account of money expended in furniture for the new House at Denton. It lists the sums paid to tradesmen for building and furnishing the house designed for Sir James Ibbetson by John Carr and completed about 1777. The first entry is: 'Chippendales Bill… £551'. The verso is headed 'An account of Several Sums Expended in the new house at Denton', amounting to £7,918 0s 11 1/2d, which included £630 paid to the architect John Carr. Denton Hall is the only house in the old parish of Otley which Chippendale is known to have furnished.
