Pages 6 and 7 of a small paper program listing events for the South Australian Rowing Association regatta on the Port River, Saturday 21 February 1925. Races included Champion eight sculls, Maiden clinker fours, and the Le Hunte rowing cup. Officials adjudicated from the deck of the SS Vigilant and the Commonwealth, Adelaide, Torrens, Port Adelaide, Mannum, Renmark and Murray Bridge rowing teams all competed. The programme was printed by Gillingham and Company Limited and sold for three pence on the day. Sailing and rowing regattas were popular events from early European settlement. The first regatta was held on the Port River in 1838. Rowing races were held on the Torrens and on the Port River throughout the 19th and 20th century. The events were modelled on the famous Henley-on-Thames regatta in Oxfordshire, England.
