The 1th Rhee Syng-man presidential inauguration and The third National Liberation Day anniversary.
As the first president of the republic, Rhee Syng-man was elected by the National Assembly on Jul. 20, 1948 and sworn in under the Constitution of the Republic of Korea on the plaza in front of the Capitol building on Jul. 24 in the same year. The presidential inauguration proceeded in the order of opening, singing of the national anthem in unison and salute to the national flag, oath of office, president's inaugural address, vice president's inaugural address, congratulatory remarks and the reading of congratulatory cables, three cheers for the nation, and closing.
