The 1st Rhee Syng-man presidential inauguration and The 3rd National Liberation Day anniversary
As the first president of the republic, Syngman Rhee was elected by the National Assembly on Jul. 20, 1948 and sworn in under the Constitution of the Republic of Korea on the plaza in front of the Capitol building on Jul. 24 in the same year. The presidential inauguration proceeded in the order of opening, singing of the national anthem in unison and salute to the national flag, oath of office, president's inaugural address, vice president's inaugural address, congratulatory remarks and the reading of congratulatory cables, three cheers for the nation, and closing.
