The 2.1m telescope of San Pedro Martir Observatory

In the 60s it became evident that Tonantzintla was no longer suitable for astronomical observations, and astronomers looked for a better site. San Pedro Martir in Baja California is recognized for having the best characteristics in terms of dark sky, low cloudiness and low atmospheric turbulence.
