At the start of the new millenium, the National Chopin Piano Competition celebrated its 25th Year Anniversary. Letters of congratulations came from Bill Clinton (President of the United States) and then Florida Governor, Jeb Bush. The 6th National Chopin Piano Competition welcomed 24 contestants to Miami. Pictured here are the six finalists and prize winners (L to R) Hiroko Kunitake (co-third prize), Ning An (first prize), Jun Asai (2nd prize), Brenda Huang (co-third prize), James Lent (sixth prize), and Katherine Lee (fifth prize).
