The Adoration of the Magi

Pier Francesco Mazzucchellic. 1610

Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana

Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana
Milano, Italy

This painting with The Adoration of the Magi is small but extremely delicate, as we see in the pose of the Virgin and in the elegant gesture of the servant who is shown kneeling down to give one of the Magi a gift to be offered to the Infant Jesus. The work was purchased at the beginning of the century but scholars still have not reached an agreement on the date of execution.
