During the Cold War when the world was divided into Western and Eastern Bloc, Asian and African countries with different political systems were united in avoiding nuclear war and to establish a new, peaceful and prosperous world, free from imperialism and colonialism.
Through a series of conferences held in Colombo on April 28 - May 2, 1954, and in Bogor on December 28 – 30, 1954, Indonesia, India, Burma, Pakistan and Srilanka (the five sponsoring nation of the Asia-Africa Conference) began to take actions to organize the Asia-Africa Conference. The Conference held in Bandung on Apri 18 - 24, 1955, and attended by 30 Asian and African nations, had achieved a decision that was known as the “Ten Principles of Bandung”
