Handkerchief of silk celebrating the Allied forces of the First World War. The riding men depict the rulers and mighty men of the day, from left to right: King Peter of Serbia, Emperor Joshihito of Japan, Tsar Nicolaus of Russia, King Albert of Belgium, Allied commander Sir John French and General Joseph Joffre. The design was made by Raoul Dufy, published by Bianchini Férier and sold by the firm Charvet.
The handkerchief was a gift 1916 to Wilhelmina von Hallwyl from her grandson Rolf de Maré who had travelled through France and Spain.
