The work was commissioned for the Queensland Government Tourist Bureau and printed in Brisbane. Advertising was only a fledgling industry in the 1930s, however, it is hard to imagine an easier product to spruik: pristine waters, tropical fruit and sunshine. The display above was set up in the Tourist Bureau window on George Street, Brisbane, in the early 1930s. It featured some beautiful posters and photographs from the Great Barrier Reef.
