English printed production of the 16th - 17th centuries is generally rare in our regions, which is probably due to the geographical location. Moreover, in this work dealing with the history of England, the history of the Czech nation is mentioned four times (Princess Libuše, Queen Anne of Bohemia, Jesuit Edmund Campianus, Princess Elizabeth Stuart). But our print is much more interesting mainly due to its unusual provenance, a gilded heraldic supralibros, which reveals that this first edition of the English History belonged directly to the library of the English Princess Elizabeth Stuart (1596-1662). The daughter of King James I of Scotland and later King James Stuart of England and Anne of Denmark, she married Frederick the Falconer (1596-1632) and thus became Bohemia's "Winter Queen" for a year (November 1619-November 1620).
