The Arboretum is home to 2,000 different species of trees. Some are rare and ancient varieties. Some notable specimens to look out for are in the Rhododendron Dell and Berberis Dell. The founder of Kew Gardens, Sir Joseph Hooker collected new specimens of Rhododendron on his travels to the Himalayas in the mid-19th century.
