In order not to be submerged by the commissioning of the hydroelectric power plant "Djerdap I", the remains of the archeological site Lepenski Vir have been moved to a higher level. The new protective construction opened a view of the Treskavac rock on the left bank of the Danube (Romania), towards which the entire settlement was oriented because it had a cult significance for the inhabitants of the settlement. The construction itself was built in a way that follows the slope towards the Danube.
