The fact that the lower part of the brooch was moulded is clearly revealed when seen from the back. Here, the mark of the Gustaf Möllenborg jewellers is also visible. Möllenborg was one of the major companies that, during the second half of the 19th century, imported and made jewellery for the affluent and spendthrift middle classes using the new techniques. Möllenborg’s workshop has been preserved at Stockholm’s Skansen museum.
