In a large series of her paintings from the 1990s and 2000s, Alex Mylona comes to formulate her vital relationship with the world and nature, to touch the secret of existence, motherhood and erotic union. The subjects acquire a symbolic dimension, the creator emphasizes the timeless and universal character of each of them, while the compositions prominently display the undisturbed and primordial relationship between Woman and Earth, in the cycle of birth, death and rebirth that transcends individual destiny and opens up to the collective. The composition "The Bather" is part of the series of artworks "Woman-Birth-Earth", which are in direct correspondence with personal experiences, mental and emotional states. The monumental female forms and curved, abstract shapes, imposing themselves with the rhythm of their development in the pictorial space, subjecting a sense of serene acceptance and conquered maturity.
