Corts Valencianes
València, Spain

The work offers the viewer a meticulous description of the landscape and the battle that was fought on April 25, 1707, between the troops of the Bourbon King Philip V (Felipe V), and those of the Archduke Carlos for the Spanish Crown, during the War of Succession. The defeat of the Archduke´s army resulted in the loss of the Kingdom of Valencia’s fueros, or its own rights and privileges, when the centralist and restrictive Nueva Planta Decree was enacted by King Philip V in June 1707.
