The battle of San Martino. The taking of the Controcania (June 24th 1859)

The battle of San Martino was fought by the Piedmontese against the right flank of the Austrian line-up on June 24th 1859, on the same day the French were engaging most of the enemy force at Solferino. The most furious fighting of all the Unification wars took place on that day.
