Dutch public broadcasting history goes back uninterrupted to November 1919, when radio pioneer Hans Idzerda started his first experimental radio broadcasts. He used the PCGG transmitter he invented himself. Idzerda expert Pieter Bakker talks us through the technical innovations behind this special kind of FM transmitter, of which he built a working replica.
