The sculpture 'Single Form (Memorial)' was created by Dame Barbara Hepworth in 1961-2. One of three iterations of the work, it was purchased by the London County Council for permanent display at the park. An earlier iteration was temporarily displayed as part of Battersea Park 'Sculpture: Open-air Exhibition', held from May to September 1963.
