Bath's Assembly Rooms was designed by John Wood the Younger and constructed in 1769-71. In 1931 it was bought by the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings and restored in 1938 by A Mowbray Green. A bombing raid on the night of 25/26 April 1942 gutted the building and it was again restored in the 1960s.
