The Burning of the Papal Bull

The Roman Church threatens Luther in the summer of 1520 to excommunicate him as a heretic. He was given 60 days to revoke his writings. Luther lets the deadline pass and publicly burns the papal letter. Thus the breach is completed, and Luther is expelled from the church.
