The candidates of the conservative liberals

In the parliamentary elections on September 28, 1848, the government-affiliated conservative liberals, who have been in power since 1841, suffer a defeat. The so-called progressive liberals prevail. However, the government, which enjoys the confidence of William II, remains in office despite losing the elections.
