Cubist rendering of two seated mannequin-like figures playing cards at a table, the left figure's empty right hand is on the table while the right figure's card filled left hand is on the table. Considering by many to be Woodruff's most famous painting. The original, completed in 1929 was too badly deteriorated to include in his 1979 retrospective exhibit at the Studio Museum in Harlem. Therefore, the artist painted the original over.
