The Castilblanco Tragedy

This diorama depicts the tragedy that took place on December 31, 1931 in Castilblanco (Badajoz). The bodies of Corporal José Blanco Fernández, and guardsmen Agripino Simón Martín, José Mato González, and Francisco Gonzalez Barroso, were dumped in the street on Calle Calvario and found more than seven hours later. They manned the Civil Guard post in the town, and were murdered and their bodies mistreated when they tried to break up an illegal protest in the town.
