A view of the China Film Archive (CFA) building in Beijing, China. The photo was taken by a KOFA staff member during a business trip in 2018. Since KOFA's discovery of Good Bye, Shanghai! (1934), directed by Jeong Gi-tak, a Korean film director who made films in Shanghai during the Japanese Occupation, at the CFA in 1999, the Archive has unearthed several dramatic films made during the Japanese Occupation. In 2004, four dramatic films, Military Train, Angels on the Streets, Fisherman's Fire, and Volunteer, were returned to KOFA; in 2005, Sweet Dream, the oldest surviving talkie film, Spring of Korean Peninsula, and Straits of Joseon; in 2006, Dear Soldier; and in 2014, Tuition.
