The City of Supreme Peace portrays what people expected to see in a prosperous and vibrant city during the age of peace. Men and women of different ages and social classes appear in the painting, engaged in daily life, pursuing livelihoods in construction, agriculture, the military, and in other fields, or enjoying some leisure time. This multi-faceted depiction of urban life also includes a large procession with detailed depictions of the onlookers. The most, frequent features of the painting are shops and their merchants and customers.
