The Civil Guard During the Cholera Outbreak

Diorama depicting the work carried out by the Civil Guard during the terrible cholera epidemic that devastated the regions of Andalusia and Extremadura in the summer of 1865. They assisted and evacuated large numbers of the affected. Staying at their positions and having constant contact with those affected meant that many of the corps’ personnel contracted the disease themselves.
