This diorama depicts a noncommissioned officer and five Civil Guards on patrol in the jungle in Equatorial Guinea. Civil Guard forces were sent to the Spanish territories in the Gulf of Guinea by Royal Circular Orders dated March 30 and July 31, 1907. They served in the region for 61 years, initially training native forces, and then as public order and security forces for the Governor General of Equatorial Guinea. On October 12, 1968, the country was granted independence, and on April 19, 1969, the last contingents arrived back in the Canary Islands.
