The Concert

Tapestry part of the Vegetables series, exhibited in the Santa Catalina Room, so named for the lushness of its trees and vegetation. The scene in the tapestry, The Concert, takes place in a lush garden. On the right, there is a group of four women playing musical instruments, a gentleman in the center, and a maid serving. In the background, the portico of a mansion, with a balustrade and dragon fountain, and another secondary plane with a garden of geometric flowerbeds, a circular fountain in the center, and a mansion. On the right, a second building, further away. The vertical composition is marked by the axis of the open sky perceived between the trees, and gives the scene a calm and tranquil contemplation.
