One of the most iconic images in Rio is the Corcovado Christ Redeemer (Cristo Redentor), located at the top of the Corcovado hill. The statue is made of reinforced concrete and soapstone, 30 metres high, upon a pedestal an additional 8 metres, its arms have a wingspan of 28 metres wide. The landscape views from here are some of the world’s best.
