Carlos Ferreira was a sculptor who primarily produced commemorative works and sculptures associated with architectural projects, including those for the Hospital de la Paz in Madrid and the reliefs for the Hospital Puerta de Hierro, also in Madrid. He donated his last public work to the Instituto Oceanográfico in Tenerife.
The Creator’s Face is one of the artist’s few sculptures not associated with architecture in a private collection. It dates from the peak of his mature output, which he reached following a process of abstraction of natural forms, principally the human body, to which this work ultimately refers.
