The Morassutti data processing department (reparto meccanografico) represented the company’s technological vanguard between the 1950s and 1960s, marking the transition from manual bookkeeping to modern management automation. By employing cutting-edge machinery such as IBM tabulators, the office utilized a punched card system to process data regarding vast inventory and sales.
This infrastructure allowed Morassutti to become a model of efficiency, optimizing the management of thousands of products and streamlining billing procedures on a company-wide scale. The department became the symbol of the firm’s transformation into a modern industrial entity, capable of integrating the high technical specialization of its operators with the vibrant cultural and social atmosphere that characterized the company's internal life.
