The November Pogrom began in Vienna in the early morning of November 10, 1938. SS and SA led the plundering and arson with the vigorous support of anti-Semitic Viennese. Over sixty Viennese synagogues and prayer houses and numerous welfare institutions were destroyed or set on fire. In many districts apartments and business were destroyed, and several people were arrested and killed or beaten to death on the streets.
