- Details: WOOL – Covilhã Urban Art Festival, that merged in 2011 in Covilhã, for various reasons beyond our control, didn’t get more support or funding for a second edition, so obviously we searched for other geographies, new projects and new formats. The first place that welcome us was LXFactory in Lisbon (as Rua Rodrigues Faria, 103 – www.lxfactory.com), undeniably the most creative and artistic center of the capital, which was installed in an old flourmill and later printer industry, a place filled with old and gray facades. This piece is one from the 3rd edition of WOOL ON TOUR, a big and tradicional eye by Ram.
- Biography: A unmistakable styles comes to mind when someone talks about Miguel Caeiro aka RAM. Born in Sintra, land which forced him to grow within the Sierra and immersed in the waves of Atlantic. Ex-Graphic Designer, Ex-former trainer at the Design and Communication area, Ex-many things... the desire and the dream to be many and do much. RAM always stood out with constant and unique graphic line.Practices freestyle graffiti, experimental and psychedelic with own rules result ofhis experiences lived daily, here or across the world. RAM occupies artistically the public spaces with graffiti lines very own that were highlighting of the others existing in the graffiti world /national and international street art. Since 2000 he’s dedicated exclusively to this artistic movement, exploring ways unparalleled within the national and international urban limits. With the artistic evolution, he combines new motivations that is a mix of all his worlds (graffiti, design, land art ...), working image, video and writing on most of their interventions. Eastpak Art Team since 2005, signed works by himself, solo exhibitions, and occupations of abandoned spaces or joint projects require a long list, highlighting the 1st Exhibition of Graffiti in Portugal (1998), or The Factory Diaries (2006) video documentary about abandoned and graphical occupation space. Former member of the collective Visual Street Performance - largest national event of graffiti / street-art jointly organized until last edition in November 2008. However RAM continues his endless walking between travel and international projects but never forgets his origin and he hope to see the national metropolis occupied by a system that allows us to live in a society where the graffiti / street art is framed with public space, understood and respected. Of all of my work, I give special attention to that last – Always - Because that’s what defines who I am today.
