The 'disappearing wall' of the Jarvis Hall, 66 Portland Place

The mural painting by Bainbridge Copnall, acting as an acoustic absobent, is on a wall which can be lowered into the sub-basement which opens the Hall into its Foyer, thus providing additional seating space. The theme of the mural is the Empire-wide scope of the RIBA, showing in the centre, the RIBA Council with peoples and buildings of the British Empire surrounding.
