Basia Banda's art focuses on the problem of body, sexuality and subconscious fears. Daily News is a series of 30 collages inspired by news headlines published by the Malopolska web portals. The sensational headlines report tragic events: accidents, acts of violence or vandalism, natural disasters. The artist focuses on these short headlines and analyses every word and thus constructs a picture of the situation consisting of contextless, seemingly mismatched elements. The artist pursues the path of intutive associations by using the technique of collage.

Barbara Bańda (b. 1980) pursues painting, makes installations and videos. Graduate of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań.
