The English Woman's Journal, started by Bessie Rayner Parkes and Barbara Leigh Smith Bodichon. The journal was an important forum for discussing ideas shaping the early women's movement. Many of the women involved went on to be involved in the early organised feminist movement which would lead to the campaign for votes for women.
