Cecco Bravo was engaged to decorate this room by Michelangelo the Younger (1636). Howeverer the relationship between these two highly temperamental personalities was a brief and a stormy one, probably because Cecco Bravo’s talents were illsuited to the minute instructions provided by the master of the house. During two months the painter managed to decorate the ceiling with the allegorical figure, the wall with portraits of poets and writers and half of another with figures of astronomers, mathematicians and navigators.
