The Fechthaus in Nuremberg with the wonderful funambulist, 1652. The date refers to an appearance by a traveling group of acrobats who visited in both 1651 and 1652, as confirmed by a document in the municipal archives. The 16-year-old Graff achieved such an impressive drawing that Peter Troschel, an experienced and considerably older engraver, based an engraving on it. Graff himself made the above engraving later for his own "Major Views of the City."
