The Senate was established in Poland pursuant to the Round Table agreements. Solidarity won 99 per cent of the Senate seats in the elections of July 4th (99 mandates). Initially, Senate sessions were held in the Sejm’s plenary hall. Later, a separate room was prepared for the Senate.
