In this image, The Fuente de Tláloc stands out and, in the background, the Cárcamo de Dolores. “It is a square pond, 5m deep. On one of its sides is the mouth of the tunnel –3.25m in diameter— and on the other there are the gates that will regulate the flow of water towards the city. To cover the pond—and leave a commemorative sign on that site—a building of a very medium architectural value has been built: all concrete, with quarry sheet cladding, it has 2 facades with a portico and a vaulted roof. The gargoyles, on the outside, and inside, the built-in lamps are a stylized memory of pre-Hispanic snakes.” (Tiempo, July 20, 1951).
