The Georgian House is one of a number of detached houses built in Great George Street by William Paty in the late 18th century. Each house was built to the specifications of the individual client. The house at 7 Great George Street was built for John Pinney, who used the house as the headquarters for his business as a West Indies sugar factor.
The house was given to the city of Bristol in 1938 and became The Georgian House Museum. This view shows the rear of the house from the garden.
