Herbert Kuron was a landscape painter who often painted mountain views of the Karkonosze Mountains. He was born in Wrocław, where he began his artistic studies, later he also studied in Berlin and Dresden. Initially, he was faithful to the realistic painting of the academics, but gradually he modernized his workshop. He began to operate with wider planes and a streamlined line. The presented landscape shows the Koci Ridge located on the Czech side of the Karkonosze Mountains. The painting is painted in the light, pastel colors typical of the artist.
