Corrado de Mochis and Giovanni da Monte (cartone?)1565/1567

Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano

Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano
Milano, Italy

Stained-glass window V35 of Milan Duomo was made by Corrado de Mochis based on cartoons attributed to Giovanni da Monte. Also participating in the conclusion of the work were Pier Angelo Sesini (as per the inscription 1566. P.A.S.F. "Petrus Angelus Sesinius fecit", placed at the feet of the dead Virgin) and Giovanni Battista from Cologne. Going from the bottom, the large window depicts three episodes: the Descent of the Holy Spirit, the Dormition, and the Assumption into Heaven.
