Wilhelmina is wearing both the brooch and the bracelet in this family photograph from 1868 with Walther and their daughters Ebba and Ellen. The photograph was taken at the studio of Bertha Valerius, as were a further two of the photographic portraits of Wilhelmina from the 1860s. It would appear that this impressive brooch was one of Wilhelmina’s absolute favourite pieces of jewellery. The top right-hand picture is from the 1880s. Here, too, Wilhelmina is wearing the brooch, centrally placed on her throat. This portrait comes from Gösta Florman’s photographic studio.
