The Great Market, Haarlem

Berckheyde, a painter of architecture, liked painting the main square of Haarlem with the imposing church of Saint Bavon in the background. He repeated this subject several times (National Gallery, London; Frans Hals Museum, Haarlem) and always with the same attention to detail.
