Known as 'The Great Picture' this painting was commissioned by Lady Anne Clifford (1590 - 1676), after she successfully regained her inheritance. The left side panel depicts Clifford at the age of
fifteen, when she should have recieved her inheritance, but the estates instead passed to her uncle. On the right is Clifford in her mid-fifties, when she finally recieved her estates. The center panel is of her parents ad two older brothers who died in childhood, leaving her as sole heiress.
